Bangladesh is ahead of its neighbouring countries in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) Index 2020. The country has ranked 109th among the 166 countries and moved seven notches up in the latest index released recently. The position is ahead of India (117th) and Pakistan (134th) in South Asia, as per the inex, reports BSS. Last year, Bangladesh ranked 116th out of 162 countries. The 2019 Index ranked states and UTs based on 54 targets spread over 100 indicators out of 306 outlined by the UN. It measures their progress on the outcomes of the interventions and schemes of the Government of India.
